Marienplatz-Galerie Schwerin.

In a joint project partnership with Generali Deutschland GmbH and AachenMünchener Versicherung, Tenkhoff Properties developed the Marienplatz-Galerie Schwerin in the prime location of the traditional city center of Schwerin, the capital of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The Marienplatz-Galerie Schwerin is a modern center of the latest generation, featuring circa 15.000 m² retail space. Approximately 60 shops are distributed over four levels (basement, ground floor, first and second floor). The underground car park on the second basement level provides 148 parking spaces. Above the retail area, on the third floor, office space of circa 2.000 m² was realized.

Marienplatz and Mecklenburgstrasse represent the established and most significant shopping areas at the heart of Schwerin. With a growing catchment area of over 430.000 people, Marienplatz functions as the largest shopping area in Northeastern Germany. The Marienplatz has over 60.000 m² retail area, approximately 200 shops and circa 3000 parking spaces at its disposal. Because of its central location within the inner city of Schwerin, the Marienplatz is comfortably accessible by car, public transport, by bike and on foot.

Over 40.000 people frequent and breathe life into Marienplatz every day. Since its opening on 12th of May 2011, with its unobtrusive and modern architecture, the Marienplatz-Galerie Schwerin has enriched the shopping experience at Marienplatz and enhanced the feel good factor of this thriving central location. Tenants such as REWE, dm Drogeriemarkt, Sport2000, C&A, Schuhhof, Kult and the fashion store Kressmann as well as assorted gastronomical options present an invitation to shop, browse and linger.

With the connection of the Marienplatz-Galerie to the established fashion store Kressmann, the existing retail trade around Marienplatz is once again directly linked to Schwerin's historic core. The urban Marienplatz has gained lasting allure through the Marienplatz-Galerie. Additionally, the planned municipal rebuilding of Marienplatz will considerably enhance the attractiveness of the location. The resulting opportunities for development further contribute to the strengthening of Schwerin's inner city as a highly productive center for the retail industry with superregional importance.
