Tenkhoff Properties develops the „Marienplatz-Galerie Schwerin“ on a historic site in the old city center of Schwerin. On an area of circa 15,300 m² of rental space in a top location at Marienplatz, a new shopping ecperience will be generated with more than 50 shops distributed over four levels. The Marienplatz-Galerie brings new glamour into the inner city of Schwerin and will become the retail magnet of the region.

The opening of Marienplatz-Galerie is planned for Spring 2010.

The traditional shopping areas in the inner city of Schwerin are Marienplatz and Mecklenburgstraße as main axis of the pedestrian area. Mecklenburstraße is the classic promenade in Schwerin with mainly small retail concepts, cafés and restaurants. To the North it leads to Pfaffenteich, one of the twelve inner-city lakes and ponds of Schwerin.

With the intended link-up of Marienplatz-Galerie to the established fashion store Kressman the connection from the main traffic junction to Mecklenburgstraße, required by urban development, will be established.

The city authoriteis strongly support the project. In time for the opening of the center in the spring of 2010 the Marienplatz will be completely rebuilt.

In the heart of the restructured Marienplatz the attractive building of the Marienplatz-Galerie will become the new highlight of the old city of Schwerin. New development potential for the city and the whole region will be created.
